Corner of Ben-Gurion St and Sokolov St, central Herzliya
Herzliya's first and central synagogue, founded in the 1920s; cornerstone laid 1935, completed late 1940s (construction halted during WWII). Designed by architect Richard Kaufmann, once praised as one of Israel's most beautiful synagogues. Mainly Ashkenazi nusach but welcomes Sephardi and Yemenite worshippers; daily, Shabbat and holiday minyanim plus an upper-floor beit midrash. Renamed for the late Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Yechiel Yaakovovitz.
